Dunk it Up: A 2K Deep Dive

Whether you're a baller or a benchwarmer, this NBA 2K15 guide will turn you into an all-star in no time. Growing up as a kid I thrived on video games. My favorite at the time were sports games like Madden, MLB, and even NHL, but mainly 2k. Basketball being my main/favorite sport I guess you would expect that right? Me and my uncle first started playing 2k together when 2k15 came out and that was the first year they added the new game  mode “MyPark” a massive online game mode allowing  you to create your own player with whatever attributes you’d like to upgrade, and also with any clothes you want to customize your player with.

With all kinds of personalized animations, runs, walks, introductions, accessories etc. Just so you can stand out and be exactly how you want to be.

But you need VC if you’re trying to really personalize yourself to the fullest. is the in-game currency that can be earned through gameplay or purchased with real money.

It is used for various in-game transactions, such as upgrading MyPlayer’s attributes, purchasing cosmetic items like clothing and shoes, or even buying animations like dunks and celebrations.

Going into this mode and playing online matches against others from all over the world and from the different parks in the game. Starting in the park you can choose from the 3 rivalry parks “Rivet City Rough Riders, Sunset Beach Ballers, and finally the Old Town Flyers, each park having their own unique play-styles and bonuses.

Offering unique events to be held in the park as well like “Rival day “Rival Day was one of the most anticipated events in 2k15 It was a competition between the three park affiliations: Rivet City Rough RidersOld Town Flyers, and Sunset Beach Ballers. To gain double xp towards leveling up and also get exclusive clothing items for the winning affiliation.

The Mountain Dew 3X Tournament, this was one of the very first times that sponsored events were included in NBA 2K. MyPark's fast-paced, high-energy vibe was reflected in  the intense 3-on-3 street basketball format of the Mountain Dew 3X tournament.

Unique Rules and Specialized Courts: The tournament added a new dimension to the standard MyPark gaming. Both recreational and competitive players were excited to show off their abilities in this tournament.

Community Development: Describe how MyPark contributed to the development of a strong sense of community. Talk about how the opportunity to represent a park, participate in tournaments, and play online matches sparked the development of devoted player communities, rivalries, and teamwork.

Content Creation: The game's exposure increased as streamers, YouTubers, and content producers started posting gameplay videos, strategies, and even holding tournaments of their own. I could bring up plenty of content creators who gained popularity at this period.

People like Orlando in Chicago, Prettyboyfredo, Solluminati, Shakedown2012 these are just a few people who really blew up when this game came out.

Transforming NBA 2K15 into a social media platform as well as a game. Gamers established rivalries, crews/clans (teams) to rule the parks, and even friendships.
